About Us

The establishment of an integrated cancer ImmunoTherapy Center, in which all immunological expertise within the Amsterdam UMC is bundled, presents an unparalleled opportunity for clinicians and translational researchers, with an interest in immunological research, to join forces. It promotes an original and innovative way of performing medical scientific research that focusses on the identification of common altered immunological denominators in various malignancies. The ITC has a strong – from bench to bedside and back – translational signature, in which discovery-based research is translated into novel diagnostic tools, new biomarkers and therapy options, which will be tested in high-quality innovative clinical studies.

GOVERNANCE

The Director of the ITC is Prof. Marjolein van Egmond, who together with a team of PI’s make up the Executive Board.

The ITC Executive Board currently consists of 8 PIs, which include fundamental-translational PIs and clinicians working in the field of immunotherapy. The board meets once a month, to discuss collaboration requests, discuss and prioritize projects and trials, and set up priority lists of equipment necessary for keeping the facilities innovative and state-of-the-art. The Board have a Chair, who acts as a bridge with the board of directors of CCA and AII.

Immune monitoring Unit

Our immune monitoring unit is under supervisions of its diractors Tanja de Gruijl and Juan Garcia Vallejo. We have a team of technicians and operators for flow cytometry, advanced microscopy and data analysis, that together with our senior scientist Fernanda Pascutti provide high quality and comprehensive immune monitoring.

Interested in making use of the ITCs facilities or services, please contact Annelies Turksma or fill in the form. We are happy to discuss your work with you and see if we can provide a service that suits your immunotherapies needs.
